Music

Absent Sons

I’m one half of Absent Sons - a Blues and Americana duo based in South London. I sing lead vocals and play harmonica. Absent Sons play vintage, Delta-infused music that’s all about smoke, whisky, slide guitar, dancing with friends and letting blues take you through the dark times, too.

The band has been together six years and played gigs all over London and the UK, performing everywhere from an ice cream parlour to a ship rolling on stormy seas. We’ve been featured at Tenby Blues Festival and Fire and Feast Festival. We’ve also been featured live on Greenwich Maritime, Wandsworth Radio and even a Dutch radio blues show.

A Distant Signal

Last year Absent Sons launched our first album of original music which we wrote during the pandemic, and recorded in early 2022 at Cobham Sound, Surrey.

Chaps Choir

I’m a proud member of Chaps Choir - a large male singing gang from London; say goodbye to the male voice choir most would recognise. Prepare for pop re-hashes, snowy hunting calls, self-aware pirates and, well, lots of men singing …

Since 2013 our voices have filled the Royal Festival Hall, The Union Chapel, Wilderness & Port Eliot festivals. We’ve performed live on sat night prime time TV, recorded at Abbey Road and been the subject of articles & books exploring men’s singing & male community.

Collaborations with artists & organisations include: Omar, Joe Stilgoe, The Spooky Men’s Chorale, CALM, Voices Now, The Choir With No Name & The Music Venue Trust. In 2016 we released our first single, a double a side 7" & electronic release in collaboration with singer-songwriter Samantha Whates, and in 2017 we released 'Blue Moon / Breezeblocks', a video & recording project.
